A Riviera Casino Road Trip: Monte-Carlo to Sanremo
Monaco and Sanremo are close enough to combine in one easy coastal trip, with some of the Mediterranean’s best views in between.

Day 1: Nice
Fly into Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, walk the Promenade des Anglais and the old town, and settle in for the night.
Day 2–3: Monte-Carlo
Follow the coast road or take the train to Monaco. Tour the casino by day, dress up for the evening, and spend a morning in Monaco-Ville and at the Oceanographic Museum.
Day 4: Menton
Stop in Menton, the last French town before the border, known for its lemons, gardens and pastel old town.
Day 5–6: Sanremo
Cross into Italy and continue to Sanremo. Visit the Art Nouveau casino, wander the lanes of La Pigna and cycle the seaside path.
Getting around
The coastal railway links Nice, Monaco, Menton and Ventimiglia, with connections onward to Sanremo. A car gives you more freedom for the corniche roads but parking in Monaco can be expensive.
